Open-top units are more energy-intensive but deliver higher shopper engagement and impulse purchase rates for appropriate product categories.

Yes. Island display chillers with automatic defrost cycles produce melt water that must be drained away, typically into a floor drain channel beneath or adjacent to the unit. The installation must include an appropriate drain connection and, where floor trenches are not available, an integral drain pump to lift melt water to the nearest drain point.
